Superintendent Dr. Michelle Kuss-Cybula and the Communications Department took home several top awards at the Annual Washington School Public Relations Conference (WSPRA) in Spokane earlier this week!

Dr. Kuss-Cybula received the association’s top award, the Crystal Apple Award, for her dedication to communications and community engagement as a superintendent. Since joining Oak Harbor Public Schools in 2022, she hit the ground running by connecting with community organizations, families, staff and administrators as part of her 100-day listening and learning tour and State of the Schools event. She also worked closely with the communications department to launch the #OneOakHarbor movement that unites the entire community around the education of students.

In addition to Dr. Kuss-Cybula’s award, the OHPS Communications Department secured three awards from the WSPRA annual communications awards ceremony including:
Award of Excellence (Best in Show) – OHPS Strategic Plan Video – Vision of the Student Experience
Award of Excellence – OHPS 2024-2025 Printed Calendar
Award of Merit – Alumni Spotlight Social Media Campaign
