πŸ“ We are so proud of our Oak Harbor High School student board representatives Maggie Litvachuk and Allena Locklear for co-leading this student leadership retreat with Gabby and Harleen from Ferndale Schools! Students from all across our region filled the room with excitement and ideas and together they developed a mission statement to drive their work forward.

We had an exciting day last Friday at the NWESD 189!

Current and prospective student board representatives for several districts around our region joined together for a student-led leadership conference focused on sharing the unique experiences from their schools, co-creating a mission statement and equipping themselves with the tools and confidence needed to thrive in their leadership roles. This was the first conference of its kind in Washington and could serve as a blueprint for other regions.

This work was led by students from Ferndale Schools and Oak Harbor Public Schools.

Also in attendance were students from Anacortes School District, Lake Stevens School District, Lakewood School District 306, Lynden Schools, Marysville School District No. 25, Meridian School District 505, San Juan Island School District, Sedro-Woolley School District, South Whidbey School District and Sultan School District.
