🚒🔥 This morning, Central Whidbey Island Fire & Rescue deployed a team of Red Card certified wildland firefighters to assist with the ongoing wildfire response in Southern California. Our amazing crew, Engine Boss Kole Kellison, Driver Jeff Rhodes, FF Justin Burnett and FF Ken Lindenstein departed just before 4 AM to join engines from other departments in the area.
The team will caravan over two days to Southern California, where assignments and locations will be provided upon arrival. Deployments such as this can last up to two weeks, with the possibility of extension.
We are thankful for their bravery, courage and commitment to answering the call to help those in need. Please join us in wishing them a safe journey and successful mission.
