VIP PROFILE: Ron Muzzall
Sen. Ron Muzzall (R-Oak Harbor) was appointed to the Washington State Senate after the resignation of Sen. Barbara Bailey (R-Oak Harbor) in September 2019. He was sworn into office on October 18, 2019. Muzzall ran for election to his seat in 2020, facing then-Island County Commissioner Helen Price Johnson. Muzzall won in the November 2020 General Election, and was sworn in for his first full term in January 2021.
In the 2021-2 term, Sen. Muzzall will serve as the ranking member on the Senate Health and Long Term Care committee. He also serves on the Senate Ways and Means and Senate Rules committees.
