LEGISLATURE 2025-26 / DAVE PAUL: This might be WA’s most underrated way to cut college costs

Receiving college credit while in high school is a fantastic way to reduce the burden of debt for our students and can accelerate student learning. In 2023, I sponsored legislation to expand our running start program to students over the summer when many students have extra time. In 2024, I sponsored legislation to ensure all students and their families are aware of the dual credit programs available to them. Together these new laws ensure even more students can take advantage of the opportunities available to them as they complete their high school graduation requirements.
