Wanda Grone (R-Langley), who’s running for Island County Commissioner, District 1, sent out this announcement to supporters on Thu., Jan. 25, 2024.
I want to personally invite you to my campaign kick-off event on Sunday, February 25 at Comforts Winery, Langley, from 6 – 7:30 pm. I am so excited to have this opportunity to share my vision for Island County with this community and bring a common-sense voice to the Board of County Commissioners.
We all need to ensure that the County is making smart fiscal decisions and that projects being considered follow best practices and provide a benefit for the costs incurred. Too often money is spent on government programs without measuring the results of existing or past ones to determine if the goals were achieved. As Island County Commissioner, I will help the County become more efficient in its processes by leveraging modern-day technology to increase work product and reduce waste. Who better to do this than a person with over 12 years within Island County government, 8 as the County Treasurer?
Will you be able to join us at Comforts Winery on February 25? Having your support early on will be very helpful in getting the campaign wagon rolling with signs, advertising, campaign events. You can RSVP and contribute online by clicking here [Ed. Note: link omitted]. Individuals and businesses can contribute up to $2,400 each ($4,800 for couples). Every dollar donated will make a significant impact on our campaign to strengthen the common-sense voice on the Island County Board of Commissioners.
I am grateful to have your support. Please don’t hesitate to reach out with any questions.
Warmly,
Wanda J. Grone
