The city of Langley is convening a new volunteer-led committee focusing on confronting climate change. Following a city council meeting in May when a group of South Whidbey schoolchildren who call themselves the United Student Leaders encouraged the council to declare a “climate emergency.”
Councilmember Peter Morton will be part of the committee and will serve as the liaison for the committee for the duration of his term on the city council. See the story by Kira Erickson for the details.

- Position 1 – Kay Kenneweg vs Harolynne Bobis –Incumbent Christy Korrow not running
- Position 2 – Rhonda Salerno running unopposed – Incumbent Dominique Emerson not running
- Position 5 – Tony Gill vs Gail Fleming – Incumbent Peter Morton not running
