Two Coupeville Town Council incumbents are running unopposed to retain their seats in November’s upcoming election. Michael Moore and Pat Powell expressed their views during a recent League of Women Voters candidates forum.

Councilmember Moore stated “as council members, we have our own concerns, but we always want to know, how does the public feel about this, and what can we do?”

He and Councilmember Powell “discussed the overlap between housing affordability and equity and diversity in the town.”

Powell wants to focus on “higher density and low income housing” as she feels it “will attract a more diverse population and promote equitable housing outcomes for a wider variety of households.”
