SOUTH WHIDBEY RECORD: South Whidbey Parks and Rec contemplates replacement levy rate

The South Whidbey Parks and Recreation District board of commissioners is mulling over a few options for replacing their current levy which expires in 2022. The levy pays for the maintenance and operation of the parks, trails, facilities, recreational programming and staff wages.

The proposed rates the commissioners are looking at are 20, 21, or 22 cents per $1,000 of assessed property valuation. For more details on this issue, see the story by Kira Erickson.

On the Ballot next Tuesday – South Whidbey Parks and Recreation commissioners:

  • Position 2 – Erik Jokinen – Incumbent running unopposed
  • Position 3 – Jake Greve – Incumbent Joshua Coleman not running
  • Position 5 – Matthew Simms – Incumbent running unopposed
