Hot conditions with temperatures in the upper 80s and 90s are expected in parts of Island County from noon Friday through 10 PM Monday, according to the National Weather Service (NWS).
This could pose a moderate to major risk of heat-related illness, according to the NWS.
This level of heat will significantly increase the risk of heat-related illnesses for much of the population, especially those who are heat sensitive and those without effective cooling or adequate hydration.
Temperatures are expected to remain well above normal next week with only gradual cooling expected.
