DAVE PAUL: ICYMI: More Coverage of Community Priorities
Rep. Dave Paul’s campaign email account (dave@votedavepaul.com) sent the following email on Tue. Sep. 21, 2021:
Friends,
Over the last three years, I’ve met with many of you to learn more about community priorities. It’s very important to me that I listen to constituents and community groups when developing our legislative agenda. I’ve truly enjoyed working with local and state leaders to champion our community’s priorities in the Legislature, and it’s exciting to see these investments being implemented.
Here’s a quick update on some of the projects that I’ve championed in the Legislature.
Our state’s transportation sector is a major contributor to greenhouse gases, and we must reduce the impact of transportation on our environment. One step is to replace diesel-powered vessels with hybrid and all-electric boats. I’ve worked to help Skagit County replace the Guemes Island Ferry with one powered with green technology.
We know the importance of broadband to rural communities—it’s an important lifeline to healthcare, education, and economic development. I’m proud to have helped lead efforts in the state legislature to make historical investments in broadband infrastructure. I’ll continuing working with local, state, and federal leaders to ensure these investments can improve access to the internet across our district and our state. https://laconnerweeklynews.com/Content/News/News/Article/Port-of-Skagit-gains-2-million-for-fiber-optic-construction/2/27/5440
Ensuring that children and families have access to quality before-and-after school programming and mentorship opportunities. In 2019, I sponsored a capital request to fund a new Boys and Girls Club facility in Oak Harbor. I’m excited to see the new facility up-and-running!

I’m proud to champion these kinds of investments in our community—and to put your priorities first in our Legislature. As always, it’s an honor to serve as your state representative.
Sincerely,
Dave
