Yesterday was a great day of campaigning and connecting with voters. We loved all the cheers.

However, politics is not a game; there’s no “team” you must be a ride or die fan of. You get to pick and choose the positions and candidates that work for YOU. Line by line.

I urge everyone to do this— blindly following a party or candidate is not in your best interest when you dive down and really question what matters to you.

As an example, I grew a up in a conservative household that always had certain channels on (AM radio and TV). I repeated those ideologies because my life felt okay and it seemed like I had no reason to change my “okay” life.

The more educated I became through life experience, the further left I leaned. Marrying into the military cemented that.

I watched a former president denigrate and admonish the troops endlessly, mocking POWs as weak and ignoring our pleas for increased pay or benefits in a world that squeezes us a little tighter every year.

We finally got that with this administration, who supported the biggest pay raise in 20 years. Now, that is at risk again with THF’s Project 2025. It’s published by them, not an editorial, that they want to drastically reduce BAH and benefits to AD military and VA.

Copy/pasted from their plan: “the veterans administration should eliminate concurrent eligibility for both service-related disability benefits and military retirement benefits, which would reduce mandatory outlays by at least $160 billion during the FY 2023-FY 2032 period.”

But disability won’t need to get cut in the future, because you won’t even get disability when they “target significant cost savings from revising disability rating awards for future claimants while preserving them fully or partially for existing claimants.”

I urge you to look at who’s running, and what you’re really voting for, line by line.

And if you see your candidates as a sports team, please ask yourself why.

Most importantly, VOTE. It matters! Do you really want the people around you picking what’s right for you? Because if you don’t vote, that’s what happens 😞
