Coupeville Town Council – Meeting

Town of Coupeville

The Town Council, the policy-making board of the Town, consists of five members, who are elected volunteers.  They meet regularly on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each month and at other times of the year for committee meetings, retreats, training sessions, and workshops.

Topics of interest include:

  • a presentation on the draft Comprehensive Plan vision statement by Planning Director Donna Keeler;
  • a vote to approve the 2022 Mussel Festival Special Event Application (to be held March 4-6, and which includes a requirement to show proof of COVID-19 vaccination or negative test before entry)
  • a vote to approve the Island County Interagency Agreement for 2022 Street Work (which includes blacktopping 1,570 feet of the gravel pedestrian trail in the Krueger neighborhood)
  • discussion of final changes to the General Permit that is being implemented by the state Department of Ecology for all waste water treatment plants that discharge into Puget Sound
  • discussion of Historic Whidbey’s request to use the Johnson property as an extension of their Haller House project.
