Jill Johnson (R-Oak Harbor), candidate for Island County Commissioner, District 2, posted this on her Facebook page on .
This will be my last campaign post. We don’t need to drag it out any longer.
Thank you to everyone who helped, put up signs, gave money, prayed, encouraged crossed party lines and voted. Without any piece of the puzzle we would have a different outcome.
Thank you to my family (related or not) who loved me when I lost and celebrated when I won.
And now we go back to work, because campaigns aren’t just about winning, they are about putting yourself in a position to serve.
Also. In this race, the roller coaster ride ended well, so we naturally want to cheer…but someone else was on the same roller coaster ride and it started on a high and ended very differently for her. That’s going to hurt…and hurt for a while. I don’t want to add to her disappointment.
So thank you all. I’m so happy things worked out in the way I believe was best for Island County. But now I’m ready to refocus and get back to work (on Monday!! Today I’m just going to read a book, in bed, where I may or may not get out of my pajamas!!) ❤️
Cheers!
