Search and rescue is a skill we practice all year.
Sometimes, rescue means physically assisting (aka dragging) a person to safety.
And sometimes, rescue happens in situations where you can’t see what you’re doing. That’s why our cadets get to practice with smoke masks – opaque glass that mimics a smoky room with almost zero visibility.
None of it is easy, but the repetition builds skill and muscle memory.
