Feel-Good Friday
Andrew knows firsthand the life-saving impact of paramedic training. One morning, after finishing a run at his home on Camano Island, Andrew suddenly collapsed from a cardiac arrest. His son called 911 and his wife began CPR under the dispatcher’s guidance. Within minutes, first responders from Camano Island Fire & Rescue arrived.
Thanks to their quick actions and expert care, Andrew survived what is known as a “widowmaker”—a condition with just a 12% survival rate outside of a hospital.
“Andrew would not be here if it weren’t for the paramedics and how quickly they responded,” his wife recalls.
Contributions from the community ensures that every Medic One paramedic receives world-class training to save lives like Andrew’s. Together, we’re making miracles happen!
