Our third-grade swim program is moving along, well … swimmingly! The program offers free swimming lessons at the Stanwood-Camano YMCA for all third-grade students in the district.
This month, it’s Utsalady Elementary students’ turn to take over the pool. Thank you to the incredible YMCA instructors who help our students build confidence in and around water.
Each class gets five days of personalized lessons, with each 45-minute session tailored to skill levels and led by multiple instructors. No YMCA membership is required.
All students are welcome to participate. Twin City students walk to the pool, while transportation is provided for other schools.
Last year, most of our 370 third-graders took part, learning vital water safety and life-saving skills.
