Island County Board of Commissioners – Work Session

The Board of County Commissioners meets in Work Session routinely on the first three Wednesdays of each month (unless otherwise scheduled). Work sessions are public meetings which provide an opportunity in an informal workshop format for the Board to review in detail ongoing issues with individual departments and elected officials. This time also is used for the Board to meet with other agencies, committees and groups to discuss specific topics of mutual interest. Items are typically first reviewed at Work Session before being scheduled on the agenda for the Board’s regular business meetings held on Tuesdays. Topics of interest include:

• The Commissioners’ Office: an update on Island Senior Resources.
• Public Works: a discussion of right-of-way procedures for county Real Estate acquisitions.
• Treasurer’s Office: the April treasurer’s report; a draft resolution to adopt the treasurer’s designation of financial institutions that qualify as public depositories for Island County.
• Community Development/Long Term Planning: an application for a site-specific rezone of a property located at 6098 Maxwelton Road in South Whidbey.
• Budget Manager: sales tax analysis for March 2022; and the initial presentation for the 2023 budget.
