Stanwood-Camano School Board hears 2 school reports

The Stanwood-Camano School Board heard several key reports during the regular board meeting on Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2025.
The board heard a report from Cedarhome Elementary School Principal Colleen Keller on the building’s School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plan.
The board heard a report from Port Susan Middle School Principal Cherae Almanza and Assistant Principal Annette Woolley on the building’s School Improvement Plan and Annual Action Plan.
The district’s Technolody Director, Ross Short, then provided the board a Technology Update.
And Superintendent Ryan Ovenell presented on School Improvement Plans, the districts Strategic Plan, and overall student achievement.
The board also received four donations:
- $10,000 from the Dorothy Koch Foundation in support of the School Spirit Program at Elger Bay Elementary School.
- $500 from an anonymous donor in support of the Stanwood High School HI-Q club.
- $5,500 from Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation, on behalf of the Floyd and Delores Jones Endowment Fund, to purchase Lexia Core5 curriculum for Utsalady Elementary School.
- $5,500.00 from the Utsalady Elementary School Booster Club to purchase Lexia Core5 curriculum for Utsalady Elementary School.
One citizen spoke during the public comment period.
