Island County Council of Governments

May 25, 2022 @ 9:00 am - 11:00 am

Island County

The Council of Governments is governed by an eight-member board made up of the three county commissioners, the mayors from Oak Harbor, Coupeville and Langley and one port commissioner from the Coupeville and South Whidbey port districts. Each member of the joint board may designate an alternate to act in the member’s absence, who need not be an elected official. A chair and vice-chair shall be elected in April of each year. Regular meetings are held the 4th Wednesday of every month at 9:00 a.m. in the County Commissioners Hearing Room. The agenda for the meeting is at this link.

Topics of interest include:

  • A WhidbeyHealth update from CFO Jim Childers
  • Discussion on the proposal from the Economic Development Council to work with RAIN, a non-profit organization whose mission “is to partner with communities to catalyze inclusive entrepreneurial ecosystems, connect entrepreneurs to resources–including overlooked entrepreneurs–and contribute to the creation of prosperous economies.”
  • Live vs. Virtual Meetings, what is the plan moving forward.
