Dear Friends,

For those that don’t know me: My name is Karen Lesetmoe and I’m running to be your Representative in Legislative District 10.

Like most of you, I have been continuously praying for our state and our country. One Sunday, at church, Senator Ron Muzzall approached me and asked me if we could talk after the service. He said, “Karen, would you consider running for Representative?”

It was then, that all my concerns, all my experience, and all my prayers felt like they were leading to this moment. A small voice in my head said: “This is your call to action…this is your duty.” And I immediately told the Senator “Yes.”

I understand what it’s like to have a deep calling and commitment to duty. I am a United States Veteran, and I volunteered to serve my country after 9/11 and enlisted in the Navy. Like many members of our community, it was the Navy that brought us to this beautiful Island where we were fortunate enough to grow our roots, 18 years ago.

As a real estate broker, it is my job to keep a finger on the pulse of our neighborhoods. The hardest thing I’ve ever done in real estate was help longtime members of our community sell the homes they love because they lost faith in our state government.

More and more, they are moving away to places where the state government has not destroyed their cities with terrible policies, made neighborhoods unsafe with strict anti-police laws, and made it unaffordable to live with high cost of living and record taxes.

The majority party has a stranglehold in Washington. With all that unchallenged control, they lost sight of what really matters. They care more about their party’s agenda and activism than they do about the wants and needs of the very people they were elected to represent.

I will fight to protect the American Dream, because I don’t just believe in it, I’m proof of it.

I know America is the land of opportunity because of my family. My father came to this country with just $38 in his pocket and a dream. I was just six years old when we emigrated from the Philippines to the United States.

Where else but America would it be possible for that jet-lagged skinny little girl to grow up to challenge bad laws and become your Republican Candidate for the House of Representatives?

Please consider supporting my campaign by donating $100, $250, $500, $1000, or even $2000. [Ed. Note: donation link omitted.] Your generous contributions will help common sense solutions reach our state government in Olympia.

Fundraising is instrumental to our success, and I will ensure your donations are spent responsibly. We plan to aggressively reach voters through all effective means at our disposal. I am excited to meet voters where they are, in person, and face to face. Please, do me the honor of being your voice and challenge the status quo.

[Ed. Note: donation information omitted]

Please, reach out if you’d like to share your concerns, have any questions, or would like information on how you can volunteer. Thank you for your support!

Sincerely,

Karen Lesetmoe
