Students from Elger Bay, Stanwood, and Cedarhome elementary schools traveled to the Stillaguamish Tribal Community Center to learn about the history, culture, and traditions of the stuləgʷábš (People of the River).
Stillaguamish Tribal members shared words and phrases in Lushootseed, led traditional songs and dances, and guided students through arts and crafts. Students also explored the local environment and habitat through the lens of the Stillaguamish Tribe, learning about the Tribe’s deep connection to the land and ongoing efforts to protect and preserve natural resources.
Thank you to the Stillaguamish Tribe for once again hosting our students! Utsalady and Twin City elementary students visit later this month.
