At yesterdays workshop we were given a presentation by WSDOT and our city engineer about potential speed changes on Hwy 20. Hwy 20 is a state highway and the state secretary of transportation is the one with ultimate authority to set speed limits. This item will be brought back to council early next year with likely speed zone changes occurring around that time.
It was also mentioned about the state working on traffic flow improvements at swantown/hwy 20 and south of town to occur sometime between 2027-2031.
