Ballots are out and for many households they’re still sitting on kitchen counters waiting to be returned.
If you’ve received a ballot, the most important step is simple: make sure it gets turned in. Ballots that aren’t returned don’t get counted.
Looking for the Voters’ Pamphlet? You can find it tucked in the same envelope as your ballot!
Ballot drop boxes are open 24/7 at nearby locations:
• Stanwood (by the library) — 9701 271st St NW
• Camano Island (at the County Admin building)— 121 N. East Camano Drive
• Silvana (by Peace Lutheran Church) — 1717 Ole Larson Rd
• Smokey Point area — Lakewood Middle School and near Lowe’s Home Improvement
You can also return your ballot by mail — no postage required. Mailed ballots must be postmarked on or before Election Day. Election officials recommend returning ballots early or using a drop box to ensure they’re counted.
Information about the proposed Safety and Infrastructure Levy — including what it would fund and what it would cost — remains available for anyone who would like to review it before voting: www.stanwood.wednet.edu/levy
