On Thursday, February 19th, fifty high school and middle school students attended an all day district Speak Up at Schools training at the South Campus. This training was led by Superintendent Becky Clifford, Principals John Patton and Kayla Phillips, in addition to counselors and teachers. This work began in the Fall of 2025, prior to the start of school, with an all day staff professional development. It was followed by an initial student leader training in December, 2025. Student leaders received this follow-up training to prepare them to facilitate an all-student training that will take place at the end of March 2026, with ongoing implementation throughout our schools. The training is based the national training Speak Up at Schools. Read more: https://www.learningforjustice.org/sites/default/files/2022-12/LFJ-Speak-Up-at-School-December-2022-Web-12052022.pdf
