The Whidbey Island Public Hospital District’s Board of Commissioners is seeking a candidate for the open fifth seat. The board has nominated James Canby for consideration and appointment to the fifth seat. The board will reconvene again on June 26, 2025, to make a candidate appointment decision. Until June 13, 2025, registered voters residing on Whidbey Island may submit candidate nominations to the Board for appointment consideration.

Any registered voter and resident of Whidbey Island interested in submitting a candidate nomination for the fifth seat of the Whidbey Island Public Hospital District’s Board of Commissioners may do so by providing a written letter of interest and a professional resume to gleasj@whidbeyhealth.org.

The next Board Meeting will be held on June 26, 2025, at which time the Board will consider all applicants and make an appointment to the fifth seat.

The Board of Commissioners has five (5) seats, representing the population of Whidbey Island.
