Hello community members!
This week, we focused on reinforcing safety expectations across our schools, ensuring students, staff, and families understand the seriousness of threats and the steps we take to maintain secure learning environments.
Through classroom meetings, we clearly communicated our expectations for student behavior, emphasizing the consequences of making threats involving weapons.
All schools have now completed retraining sessions, where students reviewed behavior expectations and the importance of maintaining a safe and supportive environment.
Families will be able to find the information covered in these retraining lessons linked in Sunday’s school newsletters. As part of our ongoing commitment to safety, schools will conduct a similar retraining after Winter Break, as is our standard practice.
We are deeply grateful to our school leaders for their diligence in following board policies, procedures, and state law, and for their close collaboration with law enforcement to investigate and address safety concerns.
Together, we are committed to creating and maintaining schools where every student feels safe and supported.

Superintendent

ABC Teams up and running!
As you may know, our ABC Teams — Academic, Budget, and Capital Projects community committees — have officially launched. Their initial meetings earlier this week have set the stage for meaningful work throughout the school year.
Each team has hit the ground running, building a strong foundation to ensure thoughtful and impactful collaboration moving forward.
The Academic Team reviewed data and set priorities to enhance student achievement and align with the district’s strategic goals. The Budget Team focused on school funding priorities, transparency, and fiscal planning to support community values. Meanwhile, the Capital Projects Team began by re-evaluating safe walking routes.
We are grateful to all the parents, community members, educators, and stakeholders who are dedicating their time to these teams. Your commitment ensures that our schools continue to grow and thrive.
