We here at the Stanwood-Camano School District believe in the power of collaboration!

That’s why we’re seeking passionate, engaged members of our community to join our one or more of our committees that play a vital role in shaping the future of our schools:

  • Academic Advisory Committee: Work with our Teaching & Learning staff and educators to review curriculum, discuss instructional strategies, and provide valuable feedback on academic initiatives.
  • Budget Advisory Committee: Collaborate with school leadership to ensure responsible financial planning and resource allocation.
  • Capital Projects Advisory Committee: Offer insights and recommendations on facility improvements, renovations, and long-term capital projects.

School Board update

The Stanwood-Camano School Board heard three program reports during its regular meeting on Tuesday, June 4, 2024.

  • Ross Short, the Career and Technical Education director, updated the board on the district’s growing CTE Program.
  • Evan Caldwell, the district’s Director of Communications, reported on the past, present, and future Public Information efforts.
  • Dr. Colin Ryan, the district’s Director of Curriculum, Instruction, and Student Support, updated the board on the Highly Capable Program.

The school board then accepted two donations:

  • $113.90 from the Stanwood High School Band Booster Club to cover the transportation costs for the band to travel to Western Washington University in April 2024.
  • $549.30 from the Twin City PTA to cover transportation costs for the Twin City Elementary field trip to the Imagine Children’s Museum.

The school board will hold its next regular meeting at 1 p.m. on June 18. Meetings are in the boardroom at the Stanwood-Camano School District Administration & Resource Center, 26920 Pioneer Highway, in Stanwood. You can sign up for public comment HERE.
