CAMANO: Vacancy on the Stanwood-Camano School Board

The Stanwood-Camano School District posted this to its news page on June 11, 2025.
The Stanwood-Camano School District has received the resignation of School Board Director Betsy Foster, who represents District 4. The announcement comes ahead of the June 17, 2025, regular board meeting, where the vacancy will be formally acknowledged.
Foster had been a school board director since December 2023. She was first elected to a four-year term in November 2023. She has served as the School Board’s Legislative Representative since December 2024.
“I am profoundly grateful for the opportunity to have worked alongside such dedicated colleagues, educators, and community members,” Foster said. “The experiences and insights I have gained during my tenure will always hold a special place in my heart.”
District 4 encompasses the north and east areas of Stanwood, including Cedarhome, Lake Ketchum, and Sunday Lake. Per Board Policy 1114, the remaining directors will fill the vacancy by appointment.
The School board will discuss the board director vacancy and the process for filling the vacancy during the 1 p.m. June 17 regular meeting.
