Oak Harbor City Councilman Shane Hoffmire posted this on his Facebook page and website on Oct. 8, 2023.

Oak Harbor Mayoral Candidate Shane Hoffmire announced as the Preferred Candidate of both local political parties.

Hoffmire has continued to be a man of the people throughout his time in elected positions. His love and concern for the citizens of Oak Harbor has always been, and continues to be,  the driving force behind fiercely representing the people. He recognizes this need regardless of political affiliation.

In speaking about his run for Mayor, Hoffmire said, “I’m speaking up for, and am ready to continue working hard for, ALL members of our community. Our joining together makes a better future attainable.”

At the end of August, the Island County Democratic Party voted Councilmember Hoffmire their Preferred Candidate for Mayor of Oak Harbor. Subsequently, the Island County Republican Party voted to also endorse Councilmember Hoffmire. It’s rare for a candidate to receive such broad bipartisan support.

Shane’s focus on Affordability, Accountability, and Livability seems to continue to resonate with voters. In response to receiving their support and faith, Hoffmire has said, “I’m very excited and grateful, I have always asked that the local parties look at what’s best for the people and the city of Oak Harbor. It has long been my belief that the success we’re beginning to see would lead to these very endorsements and eventual success on election day.”
