OAK HARBOR: Virtual Candidates Forum [VIDEO] (LWV WHIDBEY)
The League of Women Voters Whidbey Island (LWVWI) hosted a forum for Oak Harbor candidates via Zoom on Wednesday, July 19, 2023. The forum consisted of three segments:
- Candidates for Mayor (Nick Green, Ronnie Wright, and Shane Hoffmire; Craig Nurvic did not attend).
- Candidates for City Council Position 2 (Andy Plumlee and Chris Wiegenstein; Pat Harman did not attend) and Position 4 (John Chaszar and Barbara Armes; Wismine D’Avilar has withdrawn).
- Candidates for School District Director Position 5 (Aisha Mayfield and Will Smith; Sharon Jensen did not attend).
Within each segment, moderators asked questions (four questions in both the Mayor and City Council segments; three questions for the school board candidates) and each candidate responded, followed by two-minute closing statements.
