Oak Harbor City Councilmember Jim Woessner

Jessie Stensland reports that Councilmember Jim Woessner stated he was “absolutely shocked” to learn that the water bill to operate the city’s water park for two months last summer came to $100,000. Apparently, the high cost is due to the fact that the water park does not recirculate the water which the city purchases and is piped in from the Skagit River.

They Said It:

Councilmember Jim Woessner: “A hundred thousand dollars for two months of operation… Seems like an incredible amount of money to me.It blows my mind that we built a splash park that is not recirculating water in any shape of form.”
