Congratulations to our December Employees of the Month!

Port Susan Middle School teacher Tamara Pedersen has been named the Certificated Employee of the Month. Nominated by a parent, Tamara was recognized for the real, measurable impact she has on student learning — especially for students who may feel overwhelmed or disengaged. Her nomination highlighted how she understands how students learn and adjusts her approach to meet them where they are, keeping learning moving forward without unnecessary frustration. As the nominator shared, “Her focus is always on understanding, not simply compliance,” a mindset that builds confidence and trust with both students and families.

The Classified Employee of the Month is Willie Voehl, recognized for the care, consistency, and pride he brings to his role as swing custodian. Willie’s work helps create a school environment where students and staff can thrive, even in a building that requires constant attention. His nomination especially praised his calm, steady presence during challenges, noting that “he doesn’t just clean our school; he helps create an environment where students can learn and staff can do their best work.” Through patience and example, Willie models responsibility and pride, earning deep respect across the school community.

The Employee of the Month program celebrates employees who demonstrate exceptional commitment to students, families, and our school community.
