Congratulations to our October Employees of the Month!
Stanwood Middle School teacher Kim Liebscher has been named the Certificated Employee of the Month. In her new role supporting students in the Inclusive Support Center, Kim has stepped into every challenge with exceptional dedication and care. Her nomination highlighted how she works tirelessly to make sure each student feels supported — from meaningful one-on-one check-ins to guiding small-group SEL lessons that build confidence and connection. Kim has also become a vital bridge between school and home, helping families stay informed and involved so students can experience consistent support throughout their day. Her calm presence, strong relationships, and deep commitment to student success have strengthened programs, staff collaboration, and the overall learning environment.
The Classified Employee of the Month is La’Ronn Byrd, recognized for extraordinary work supporting students with Type 1 Diabetes across the district. Health Services staff rely on real-time blood sugar data through a system called Dexcom Follow, but long-standing “drop spots” on campuses have often made that difficult. This fall, La’Ronn took on the issue with determination — mapping weak-signal areas, visiting each school, collaborating with staff, and troubleshooting individual student devices. He even spent a weekend installing hotspots and boosters so students’ devices remain visible during PE, recess, in basements, and other historically low-connectivity spaces. By proactively identifying each student’s device needs and ensuring staff have the tools they rely on, La’Ronn has helped make timely, safe care possible and brought meaningful peace of mind to families.
The Employee of the Month program celebrates employees who demonstrate exceptional commitment to students, families, and our school community.
Applications received by the end of the month are considered for recognition the following month, with honorees celebrated at staff meetings by school board members and district administrators.
