Today is Veterans Day.  Today is a day we all need to express our gratitude to the veterans who have served our nation and appreciate their sacrifice and the sacrifice of their families.  Thank you to all.

Today is also the third day after Election Day.  Ballots are in and being counted. It is important we wait until all ballots are counted because every vote and every voice matters.  My race is looking good and I am very optimistic.  Currently, I have secured 55.77% of the vote and my opponent is at 44.23%.  I want to begin to thank all who voted and those who have supported me to be your County Commissioner for another four years.  I also want to thank my opponent for the courage to run in these turbulent times, for sharing his ideas and concerns for our community.  Democracy works best when we all show up.

I also need to thank my amazing campaign manager who also happens to be my amazing husband.  He has tirelessly supported me throughout the last year.  We built a team and gathered folks together last fall.  That team has also been diligent in their support.  None of this is possible without strong teamwork.  Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Thank you to all the people who encouraged me with letters to the editor, helping with advertisements, and setting out signs in their yards to show their support.  We are working hard to get signs picked up and put away.  If you have a sign or see a sign, please let us know.  You can email to [Ed. Note: email link omitted] to find a drop off location or ask for a pick-up.  John and I will be taking a much-needed vacation at the end of next week.  Our goal is to have this work completed before we leave.

In gratitude,

Janet
