Janet St. Clair (D-Camano Island) sent this email to supporters on Fri., Aug. 26.

With the primary behind us, the campaign is switching to a strong focus on winning in November.  We want you to save the date on a few events in the next couple of months:

  • September 10th; 2-4 pm – Sierra Club is hosting a picnic meet & greet open to the public at Freeland Beach Park
  • October 4th; 6 pm – Camano Chamber of Commerce hosts a candidate forum at Camano Center
  • October 12th; 7 pm – AAUW hosts a candidate forum; more details to follow

To keep current on all campaign and general election candidate events, check out our events page.

Thank you to all for your support.  I depend on your support to make our effort successful.  I hope you can volunteer in this final leg.  My awesome campaign team is coordinating volunteers to help with the getting our supporters to the polls in November. You can help by waving signs to get out the vote, writing letters to the editor, knocking on doors, making phone calls, endorsing me on the website or sharing my social media at facebook.com/stclair4islandcounty.  Of course, donations are always welcome. [Ed. Note: donation link omitted.] My opponent is using PACs for the majority of his recent donations.  I choose not to take PAC or corporate money, getting my support from individuals like you.  I want to represent people, not political PACS or big business.

It is hard to believe that our summer is coming to a close.  I have been busy both campaigning and participating in the abundance of local events that come to our communities in the summer.  Being part of our community is a high priority for me as a Commissioner and as someone who truly believes we come together on our shared values and priorities.  I love the opportunities we have to support our Chambers of Commerce, Heart and Hammers, FOCIP or the partnerships we have with CASA, Stanwood Camano Resource Center or Habitat for Humanity.  These are just a few of the organizations that help facilitate the public/private partnerships that help our communities thrive.  I will be attending the Camano Center Gala, Stanwood Camano Food Bank Annual Breakfast, and Oak Harbor Rotary in the coming month.  I was just at an amazing tour at Pacific Rim Institute with WSU Extension.  This weekend I invite you to the Camano Island Historical Tour where I will be a docent at Camano Lutheran Church or you can check out my great grandmothers quilt at Utsalady Ladies Aid.  Hope to see you there.  Of course, always feel free to reach out on your event and I’ll try to include in my schedule.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.  I could not do this without you.

Warmly,

Janet
