Dear Friends,

It’s Dave’s birthday! It’s hard to believe that– after the 2021 legislative session– Dave doesn’t look ten years older. Good news, he only aged a respectable 5 or 6 years during the session.

Today, I’m not just celebrating my Dad’s birthday. I’m also celebrating that we can start fundraising again! After 104 days of cash burning a hole in your pocket, you can finally donate again to keep great representation in Olympia.

And if you’re not convinced, I’d like to remind you of the great things accomplished this year:

  • The Legislature funded the working-families tax credit, an important step to fixing our regressive tax structure
  • The 2021-2023 budget makes historic investments in broadband in rural communities
  • The Clean Fuels Standard was passed, which will reduce greenhouse gases and protect our environment
  • Increased funding for community health, including $750,000 for Island County to improve mental health outcomes for young people in our community (BTW, my Dad wrote that proviso)

I’m so proud of all that my Dad accomplished this last session, and I had so much fun harassing him between votes. One perk of the session being at home was playing Mario Kart while waiting for voting to begin. He’s a one-of-a-kind legislator–and if you want to make sure he’s ready for 2022, then you should take this opportunity to send him a birthday gift.

(Ed.: Link to donation page omitted here.)

You only turn 40 once! Or in Dave’s case, 13 times. So, donate $53 to celebrate his 53rd birthday. Or, $22 to help get him ready for 2022.

Thanks so much, and I hope to see you all soon!

Beth
