DAVE PAUL: That’s a Wrap! Session Accomplishments
State Representative Dave Paul (D-Oak Harbor) sent the following email from his campaign account on Tue., Mar. 15, 2022.
Dear Friends
The 2022 legislative session adjourned last week. I’m proud that so many local priorities and projects were funded. Here’s a quick update of some of the projects that I helped secure in the 2022 transportation, capital, and operating budgets.
- $1.6 billion for our ferry services, including four new hybrid-electric ferries and funds dedicated to recruiting and training ferry personnel
- $4 million to complete the Mount Vernon Library Commons
- $7 million to Island Transit to purchase electric buses
- $3.5 million to construct the Clinton to Ken’s Corner Trail
- $640,000 to complete the La Conner Regional Library
- $875,000 to Habitat for Humanity’s Heron Park project and $250,000 to the City of Langley for increased workforce housing
- $270,000 to Island Senior Resources to upgrade its facilities
- $250,000 to the Northwest Career and Technical Academy in Mount Vernon
- $400,000 to South Whidbey Parks and Recreation for its proposed aquatic center
- $330,000 for Camp Korey to improve its internet and telehealth services
- $500,000 to help to eliminate Running Start fees for eligible students
- $1 million to replace culverts to improve salmon recovery in the Skagit River
- $103,000 for Pilchuck Glass Studio in Stanwood
Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to meet with me over the past four years; your advocacy is critical to the legislative process and securing these investments for our community.
I look forward to continuing to collaborate with constituents this spring, summer, and fall to identify our legislative priorities for the 2023 Legislative Session.
As always, it is an honor to serve as your representative.
Sincerely,
Dave
