Did you know?

The Stanwood-Camano School District posted this to its Facebook page on 2026-01-11 09:35:04.

Did you know? Some residents may qualify to pay less β€” or even nothing β€” toward school and local levies through a long-standing state property tax exemption program.

This may apply if you are:
πŸ”Ή 61 or older
πŸ”Ή Living with a disability
πŸ”Ή A qualifying veteran

For 2025, income limits were approximately:
πŸ”Ή $75,000 in Snohomish County
πŸ”Ή $54,000 in Island County

(Important note: deductions such as medical expenses can help many households qualify.)

If approved, this program can:
πŸ”Ή Freeze your home’s taxable value
πŸ”Ή Exempt certain voter-approved levies
πŸ”Ή Require no repayment

As the district shares information about the upcoming Safety & Infrastructure Levy, we want to make sure neighbors who may qualify for this program know about it and can explore their options.

Step-by-step application details are available through your county assessor on our Property Tax Exemptions page: https://www.stanwood.wednet.edu/get-involved/register-to-vote/property-tax-exemptions

You can also learn more about the levy itself here: www.stanwood.wednet.edu/levy

If you know someone who might benefit from this information, please consider sharing it.
