The Stanwood-Camano School Board accepted 16 donations during its regular meeting on Tuesday, August 6, 2024.

The donations

  • $1,679.35 from the Camano Schoolhouse Foundation to cover transportation costs for the elementary school field trips to the Camano City School House
  • $1,450 from the Haggen Foundation through the Building Brighter Futures Together fundraising campaign to benefit local schools, community scholarships, and youth programs.
  • $558.51 from the Utsalady Elementary School Booster Club to cover the transportation cost for the Utsalady Elementary School field trip to the Camano Island State Park.
  • $7,692.03 from the Utsalady Elementary School Booster Club to cover transportation costs and the remaining balance for the Utsalady Elementary School field trip to Camp Seymour.
  • $1,154.13 from the Stanwood Elementary School PTO to cover the transportation cost for the Stanwood Elementary School field trips to Padilla Bay Estuary, the Children’s Museum, the Stanwood Cinema, and the Skagit Museum.
  • $987.51 from the Cedarhome Elementary School PTO to cover the transportation cost for the Cedarhome Elementary School field trips to the Children’s Museum, the Kangaroo Farm, and Haller Park.
  • $1,000.00 donation to Stanwood Elementary School from the estate of Joseph J. Champagne, Jr. and Pamela Champagne-L’Esperance.
  • A donation from the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation through the Floyd & Delores Jones Endowment Fund to purchase a PowerLift Changing Table for the Health Services Department, valued at $3,057.36.
  • A notable list of donations from the Stanwood-Camano Area Foundation (SCAF) Stanwood-Camano Educational Enhancement Grant which includes:
    • $750 to purchase reading materials for the Stanwood High School Spanish class libraries at Stanwood High School.
    • $1,436.22 to purchase equipment to assist in transferring and evacuating students with mobility needs at Stanwood High School.
    • $500 to purchase math instructional games and activities for Cedarhome Elementary School.
    • $500 to purchase sheet music for the Port Susan Middle School Music Program.
    • $500 to purchase books to support the Amplify curriculum at Utsalady Elementary School.
    • $1,976.80 to purchase books for the second-grade teachers at Cedarhome Elementary School.
    • $500 to purchase knitting machines for a second-grade class at Cedarhome Elementary School.
    • $2,000 to purchase supplemental materials for the Amplify curriculum for the Kindergarten teachers at Cedarhome Elementary School.
