Coupeville Wharf Rehabilitation Project

Work continues on the comprehensive Coupeville Wharf Rehabilitation Project. A large barge is docked at the Wharf to drive the new piles and reinforce the foundation. Also, fiberglass pile jackets are currently being installed. The Cap & Pile work will be complete by year’s end.

Upgrading the Wharf’s fuel tanks is underway. This is good news for our main customer: Penn Cove Shellfish. Their vessels visit the dock frequently.

An engineering firm will soon begin work on a new septic system design and upgrade. The new septic design will include a larger tank and improved ventilation.

Our new website has ongoing updates on all Port activities.

Thank You To Outgoing Port Commissioner Day

As we get ready to start a new year, the Port has a new look!

We’re say farewell at the end of December to Commissioner David Day, who will be vacating his seat at the end of the year. We’re grateful for your leadership and public service, and we wish you well in your next endeavor!

Day’s replacement is Marianne Burr, who won election in November. And sitting commissioner John Callahan continues his service following the Nov election. He had been appointed to his seat earlier this year.

Stay tuned for more info in next month’s newsletter.
