We were pleased to participate in this process to develop the first-ever economic development plan for Whidbey Island! You can read the plan at the link below. Goals include improving infrastructure, supporting businesses, aligning education and skills training programs for living wages, sustainably managing the islands natural resources, and strengthening regional partnerships.

On July 2, 2024 the Island County Board of Commissioners approved the first-ever Island County Comprehensive Economic Development Strategy (CEDS) 2024-2028. Having a current CEDS makes Island County public agencies eligible to apply for hundreds of millions of dollars in federal funding and provides a long-term vision for economic development in Island County, making development more programmatic and efficient and less ad hoc.

For more information, check out the full report on the EDC for Island County’s website at: https://www.iscoedc.com/ceds/
