ELECTIONS 2024: Interviews with Island County Commissioner, District 1 candidates [VIDEO]
The Voter Interests Project introduces our Candidate Interviews 2024 series with interviews of candidates for Island County Commissioner in District 1 (Central and South Whidbey). We invited Marie Shimada (D-Clinton), Melanie Bacon (D-Langley), Steven Myres (R-Freeland) and Wanda Grone (R-Langley) to participate in this year’s series, to give you insight into who these people are, why they are running, and what they hope to accomplish in office.
[Ed. Note: While we have not recorded interview with all candidates, we are publishing the interviews we have recorded because ballots have already begun to arrive in voters’ mailboxes. Should we arrange an interview with the final candidate, we will update this page accordingly.]
