South Whidbey School District – Business Meeting

Topics of interest include:

• A presentation by Port of South Whidbey Commissioner Curt Gordon regarding the Port’s proposal to include workforce housing at the Fairgrounds, which would require an easement on school district property.
• A vote on new district policy 5004 – Infection Control Program, requiring staff (including volunteers) to provide documentation of immunization or evidence of immunity against certain vaccine-preventable diseases.
• Votes on several additional revisions to district policies 3411 – Accommodating Students with Seizure Disorders or Epilepsy; 1400 – Meeting Conduct, Order of Business, and Quorum; 4200 – Safe and Orderly Learning Environment; 2021 – Request for Reconsideration of Printed Materials.
• A proposal to add a retaining wall to the south and west of the tennis courts, at a cost of $97,025.50, to remediate settling that has made court no. 7 very unsafe.
• A proposal to upgrade several doors in district facilities with electronic access control and to replace fifteen surveillance cameras in four facilities; the authorization request is for $175,838.05.
