South Whidbey School District – Workshop

The regularly-scheduled workshop meeting of the South Whidbey School District’s board of directors for September 2021. The agenda for the meeting can be found at this link.

The meeting will open with a special business meeting, during which the board will vote on approval of the elementary school portable re-roof project and approval of the high school fastpitch field irrigation installation.

After this business is conducted, the board will conduct a workshop with an update from Superintendant Jo Moccia on opening the school and COVID. The board will also discuss several district policy changes, including the potential waiver of credit requirements for graduation. Such a waiver would permit the district to graduate students who have earned only 17 credits (rather than the standard 24 credits) if the student is affected by homelessness, limited English proficiency, disability, transfer into the district during the final two years of high school, or other circumstances.
