February is Career & Technical Education (CTE) Month, and it’s a great time to spotlight the hands-on learning happening every day at Stanwood High, Lincoln Hill High, Stanwood Middle, and Port Susan Middle.
CTE Month recognizes how Career & Technical Education helps students connect learning to real-world opportunities. We’re proud to offer one of the region’s most robust CTE programs that help our students gain practical experience, industry-aligned skills, and clear pathways to future careers.
One of the biggest benefits? Students can choose CTE as a graduation pathway, and many courses offer college credit at no cost, allowing students to get a head start while still in high school — whether they’re headed to college, technical training, or directly into the workforce.
CTE learning goes well beyond job preparation. Students build lifelong skills through experiences such as:
💵 Learning how to budget, manage credit, and plan for the future in our Personal Finance classes
🛠 Working hands-on with modern tools, equipment, and technology
🚜 Exploring high-demand career fields and competing in local, state, and national skill competitions
From agriculture and culinary arts to engineering, business, fire sciences, and more, CTE programs help students discover interests, build confidence, and prepare for what comes next.
CTE Month is our chance to celebrate the students, educators, and programs that make these opportunities possible. Learn more about our CTE program here:
