Ferries are vital to local residents and our state’s economy. I asked to serve as the Vice Chair of the House Transportation Committee to ensure that ferries are fully funded—and have a legislative champion that will hold WSF accountable. I’ve fought to address two key problems holding back ferry service: the lack of new vessels and the shortage of trained ferry crews. The new transportation budget addresses both problems. We can—and must—do better for all the families and communities that need reliable ferry service.
