Forty talented Spartan musicians from the Stanwood High School band and choir programs competed at the Mount Pilchuck Music Educators’ Association Regional Solo & Ensemble Festival on Feb. 8 at Glacier Peak High — delivering standout performances all day long!
For the first time in several years, Stanwood is sending musicians to the State Solo & Ensemble Festival at Central Washington University in April!
🌟 State Qualifiers 🌟
— Thomas Whitaker: Snare Drum Category WINNER with a Superior ranking in a tough field, with two more Spartans (Ashton Guiliaume and Grayson Morin) also placing in the top four!
— Nataleigh Torres: Oboe-English Horn Category WINNER with a Superior ranking!
✨ First Alternates for State ✨
— Flute Trio: Faith Dilworth, Avery Johnson, and Tuesday Passarelli earned Superior ranking in Small Woodwind Ensemble
— Saxophone Quartet: Lola Holmes, Luna McNyset, Ramona Reed, and Gracie Surdyk earned Superior ranking in Small Woodwind Ensemble
These musicians will be fine-tuning their pieces in preparation for State on April 25-26 at CWU in Ellensburg.
