We love seeing all the fun, festive fall things our students are doing! However, with Halloween celebrations coming up this week, we want to remind everyone to keep safety in mind at school, on the bus, and at athletic events.

Masks and full face paint are not permitted at school or on buses, and props or costume accessories that look like weapons — including replica swords, knives, bats, sticks, pitchforks, wands, or anything depicting blood or gore — are not allowed. These items can pose safety risks and may violate state law and school district policy governing what can be brought onto a school bus.

Under Washington state law (WAC 392-145-021) and School Board policy, all items — such as Halloween props, sports equipment, instruments, and metal water bottles — must be completely secured inside a closed bag or case while on the bus.

For fans joining the fun at the Halloween night Spartan football game please note that while costumes are encouraged, we continue to follow the same safety guidelines, state laws, and board policies. That means no masks and full face paint and props or costume accessories that look like weapons.

Thank you for helping us keep all students safe and ensuring our schools, buses, and athletic events can continue to operate in compliance with state law. Please reach out to your school if you have any questions.
