Distracted driving, including cellphone use, places motorists, passengers, and pedestrians at risk. Throughout April, National Distracted Driving Awareness Month, there will be extra patrols by local law enforcement in our Region. The enforcement patrols will be focused on distracted drivers.
The participating agencies are the Bellingham Police Department, Ferndale PD, Lynden PD, Whatcom County Sheriff’s Office, Mount Vernon Police Department – WA, Oak Harbor PD, Island County Sheriff’s Office, and the Skagit County Sheriff’s Office.
